The #1 Person in my life is JESUS
Salvation is a gift from GOD. It's not something that can be earned from good works, water baptism, going to church or being a good person. It's purely through the acknowledgment that we are sinners who are in need of salvation. Then through repentance of sins, confession and belief in Jesus Christ the Son of God and the acceptance of His death, burial and resurrection -- that beautiful and powerful sacrifice for our sins; that we will have life everlasting in Him.
There is so much I don't know but what I do know is this... There is a GOD who is the Creator of the heavens and the earth and HE LOVES YOU! Here's how much: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Here's what else I know... Sin separates us from GOD on earth and for eternity but Jesus' shed blood reconciles us to the Father if we believe. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The beginning of my life in Christ The day I surrendered my heart to Jesus I was 12 yrs old at church with my Grandparents. The message of Salvation penetrated my heart that day. Thinking of how Jesus is the son of God and was crucified, died, buried and resurrected by the Father for my sins blew me away almost literally. I found myself out of the pew, saying excuse me to my Grandmother and going down the isle to surrender my life to my Savior. The reality that Jesus alone offers forgiveness for sin. He offers redemption, reconciliation to God the Father and eternal life to me a sinner who can not save myself, sent me flying into His arms. What love He's shown!
Now, here's a critical point, although I became a Christian that day it wasn't until later in life that the revelation hit me that Jesus is not just my Savior, He's my LORD. I lived so many years unhappy, hurt and angry from my childhood -- having to hide behind false smiles and labels, and making unwise decisions based on the lack of realization that I was truly worth being loved... and if not for JESUS I wouldn't be here now! Surrendering to His love brought me peace, comfort and joy during difficult times and still does!
It begins with this.... An understanding that you must be saved from sin and that you can't be saved by good works or your own doing. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Next, a confession from the mouth and a belief in the heart....
Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Don't be afraid to pray, confess your sins, ask the Lord to forgive you and surrender your heart and life to Him that Jesus would be Lord and Savior of your life. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord. This is a beautiful, incredible and free gift to us all. The price was paid high by the BLOOD of JESUS our LORD.
With a heart of humility pray.... Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner in need of salvation and I pray for your forgiveness of my sins. I lay my heart and life down before You as I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that you are my Lord and Savior. Please create in me a clean and new heart. Dwell in my heart and help me to live my life in a manner that is pleasing to You. Thank You for your sacrifice and thank You for being my Lord and Savior. I pray in Your name. Amen.
If you've prayed with a heart of belief then you are now a new Christian, a new creature, a person who can have a love relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Congratulations to you!

Get a Bible you can understand and start with the book of John and then read the Bible and live it.
Pray daily and often and don't be so concerned about the words, be more concerned about the motivation in your heart.
Find a good Bible based church and connect with fellow Christians.
Remember that it's a process of growing in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord so be patient in your new life journey and surround yourself with people who can support you and help you.
