My heart for Jesus
John 7:16 Jesus answered,"My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me."
Jesus is Lisa's Lord and Savior! She often says she is grateful that His love is the story of her life! Lisa understand what it means to be hindered by past pain, people pleasing, secret-sin and the grip of fear and as a result she also knows the wonderful healing, freedom and grace that comes through Christ. While Lisa and her husband Peter Shaw are both ordained pastors, the gifts she is most used in by God is Bible teacher, speaker and encourager with a special heart to reach people who are wounded and need to know God's love, saving grace and redemptive, restorative power through Jesus Christ!
For many years she worked in corporate America in the NY and NJ but the call of God on her life always drew her back to Ministry. Lisa had the privilege in VA of being the Founder and President of Women of God Hearts for Jesus Inc. for several years. A ministry of prayer, teaching Bible Based Living Classes monthly for seven years and hosting events with a group of women that blessed the community of women. She was co-owner with her husband of a retail store, The Christian Shop. She was owner of her own business: New Beginnings for Women a coaching business for woman, married couples and families.
Lisa grew up serving in church on the choir, Scripture readings, etc. As an adult in VA she served in her local church in the Intercessory Prayer Ministry, Follow-up Ministry (teaching new Christians to grow in the Lord), Nursing Home and Cancer Ministry. She and her husband also served as Care Group Leaders. In addition, she worked as a Prayer Counselor for the Christian Broadcasting Network and had the pleasure of serving in that capacity on their television program as well.
She received an Associate of Theology Degree with Honors: Summa Cum Laude from Slidell Baptist Seminary, in addition to many years of servant-leadership training and hands on experience. Certificates from: Handmaiden Leadership Class (women called into leadership) under the tutelage of Pastor J. McBath and "Caring for People God's way 1" through the AACC Biblical Counseling Course.
Now residing in Florida she received a Certificate of training for Abortion Recovery: "Prepare the Way" through Reveille Ministry, Inc. to help women scarred by the shame and pain of past abortions who need the forgiveness and healing that comes through Christ. She also teaches Bible Study at her local church.
In addition to off-line ministry God has allowed and anointed Lisa the privilege to also serve His people through on-line ministry through an E-Devotional for five years titled Breathe the Word, an E-Newsletter titled New Beginnings for Women. In 2010 Lisa did ministry encouragement videos for Exemplify On-line Ministry Magazine and blogged for A Martha Heart ministry. She also has two of her own online ministry blogs: Sharing Life with Lisaand a Pro-Life/Post Abortive Healing Ministry: His Love Covers our Sins. She has also been given the privilege to begin to write for the Internet Cafe in December 2011.
Lisa has enjoyed speaking and teaching at various churches, retreats and special events over the years with the covering of her husband. She believes in sharing transparent personal stories to help people to connect to a real person. She believes the quote, "people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." She cares! She has recently authored her first book: You Are Beautiful In God's Eyes and is excited to help others to see themselves through God's Word not through the world!
Lisa's first priority and heart is toward GOD, then being a help-meet to Peter for over 21 years. She is mother to two adult daughters (25 and 18), one son-in-law and two precious granddaughters. If you want to know one personal thing about Lisa, she loves to pray and smile! Both of which feed the soul!
